If you are driving from Genoa, take the A10 towards Genova Ovest, then follow the signs leading to Pontedecimo and Praglia to reach the trailhead. Planning your visit during pleasant weather will enhance your experience, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural surroundings and historical sites along the way.
This route is rich in history, featuring ancient trade paths and unique historical markers. You will encounter the Pietra del Grano, a significant boulder where merchants once exchanged goods, and discover neviere, which are old ice houses used for storing snow. The trail also includes a Roman boundary marker from 117 A.C., adding another layer of historical depth to your hike through the Ligurian Apennines.
