The Kochelsee impresses with its beautiful mountain scenery and the wooded shores and is thus a dream for all cyclists who want to be close to nature. In summer, the lake is a great place to rest, as there are four swimming areas where you can refresh yourself on hot days in the cool waters.

At the foot of the mountains Herzogstand and Heimgarten lies the beautiful Kochelsee. Inflow and outflow is the Loisach. On the shores of the lake lies the village Kochel am See - an ideal starting point for tours in this area. The Kochelsee is additionally fed by the inflow from the Walchensee power plant. On the southeastern shore of the lake is an imposing substation.

The Kochelsee is located in Vor-Karwendel between Walchensee and the bog area Loisach / Kochelsee. At just under 6 square kilometers - which is a bit smaller than the neighboring Walchensee - it is still one of the larger lakes in Bavaria and up to 66 meters deep. The Kochelsee takes a special place in Bavaria: it is the most heavily flowed lake in Bavaria. Thanks to the fresh water he has the best bathing quality!Source and further information: karwendel-urlaub.de/umgebung/kochelsee

The Kochelsee is also worth a visit for me as a windsurfer.
At Föhn expects a very warm air. In the morning from 5:00 clock.
    Wind is very early here.
From Kochelsee there are two paths to Walchensee. Both already to drive with the MTB.
    I would avoid the road.
Early risers will be rewarded. It is always an experience there.
    What does it look like?
