Stuer on Lake Plauer See is considered a desirable paradise for lovers of Mecklenburg lakes. Fritz Reuter, the Mecklenburg poet and writer, also visited the village. The village church is interesting. It is a half-timbered building dating from 1717, after its predecessor, built in 1363, was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. The carved altar dates from the late 15th century and depicts a crucifixion with many figures and two saints on each side, the Entombment, Passion scenes, and a Last Supper scene. The pulpit and baptismal font date from the late 16th century.
