On the Bavarian side of the Inn, a few kilometers before it flows into the Danube in Passau, where the river has to squeeze its way through the nature reserve "Vornbacher Enge" between the towering rocks, lies the former Benedictine Abbey of Vornbach, a thriving monastery for more than 800 years , which gained importance mainly through its writing school, but also through the church music cultivated here.Vornbach is one of the monasteries and monasteries that were established by the sovereigns along the Inn from the 10th century.
