The town hall of Terneuzen is a battleship-like building, located on the dike of the Western Scheldt, made of steel, glass, hardwood and especially a lot of beige-grey béton brut. The building was completed in 1972 and was designed by architect professor Jaap Bakema (1914 - 1981).
In the nineties, a building was added to the town hall. Between the two buildings is an underground space of two floors.
