The church, built in 1897, was transformed into a church in 1919 and consecrated in 1920. An attempt was made to hold services only in Polish. When Lithuanians demanded their native language, riots broke out. In early 1924, there were no services at all. A parish was established in 1929. In 1933, the church was rebuilt and enlarged. In 1936, the departments and reading rooms of the St. Casimir Society were closed. The church was renovated in 1967 under the care of Pastor Kazimieras Gailias.
