    The Aire and Calder Navigation
is a section of the Rivers Aire and Calder that have been made into a canal. They have been used as canals since 1704 to connect Leeds and Wakefield. There are 16 locks across the navigation. Goods, mostly petroleum and gravel, are still transported on the canal today, although it is more common to see leisure narrow boats.
