The Bóvedas (Vaults) are located in the north of the walled city, between the Santa Clara and Santa Catalina forts. With 47 arches and 23 vaults, they are the last remaining colonial structure in the fortified part. They served as a warehouse for the Spanish and as a prison for the patriots during independence and the beginning of the Republic. Today, they house galleries, bars, and craft shops.

Hiking
