Hiking

This highlight is located near the Leudal Visitor Center, the St. Elisabeth Mill, and the nearby parking lot. From here, you can take various walks. Some pass by the St. Elisabeth Monastery, located on the other side of Roggelseweg. Take a stroll in the park, admire the octagonal tower, and note the plague house. You can find more information on the numerous signs on site if you wish. Then head into the Leudal nature reserve: heathland, fens, forests, fields, and the meandering Leu River.

Hiking

In 1240, Dirk van Altena founded a Caulier monastery here. In 1435, the monastery passed to the Congregation of Windesheim. After its destruction in 1578, reconstruction began in 1603. In 1778, the two existing perpendicular wings were built against the wing from 1656, which was destroyed in 1944. The octagonal stair tower remains of the monastery chapel, which was demolished in 1801. At its foot, a small chapel was built using classicist pilasters, prongs, and a shell-shaped pediment (mid-17th century).
