Mount Desor is the highest point on Isle Royale, reaching 1,394 feet (425 meters). Located along the Greenstone Ridge Trail, it offers a challenging but rewarding hike through dense forest with occasional glimpses of the surrounding wilderness. Unlike some peaks, there are no sweeping summit views, as the area is heavily wooded.

Hikers passing through should be prepared for elevation gains and changing weather conditions. There are no facilities or water sources at the summit, so carrying enough water is essential. Mount Desor is a key point along the trail, but is primarily a waypoint rather than a destination for long stops
