At this little intersection you can either head north to reach the Peavine Swamp trailhead, or take a little jog to the southeast to continue hiking around the lake.

Despite its name, this is not the soggiest part of the trail around the lake; that honor usually goes to the stretch south of Wanakena, which can be flooded due to beaver activity (or simply high water).
