The village of Novosergievo has been known since the time of Ivan Kalita as the settlement of Pogostishche. Noginsk local historians Petr Kopyshev and Nikolai Solonin, who studied the Bogorodsk region, suggest that perhaps even before the 14th century, during the reign of river routes, the Pogostishche wasteland was a place for collecting princely tribute or quitrent from residents of local settlements. The church chronicle of the neighboring village of Filipovskoye records a legend that a battle with the Mongol-Tatar conquerors once took place in this area. After the battles, many dead people were buried in this place. This explains the name of the village. The likelihood of this legend is confirmed by the fact that two mounds are still visible today. During soil sampling at the site of the ancient burial ground in the early 1900s, archaeologists discovered human bones. And local residents also found fragments of military weapons while cultivating the land - spearheads, parts of ancient swords, rings of ancient chain mail. In the near future, an archaeological expedition to the village of Novosergievo is planned to confirm the assumptions of local historians. It is possible that specialists will be able to find traces of history that this land hides from us.
