The hut is run by the Friends of Nature Association, the location was very nicely developed, for self-service, there is a draw well with drinks, price list is hung up. Playground equipment is also available for children in the area.
The opening hours are Saturday from 12.00 clock, Sunday and public holiday from 8.00 clock; open throughout the year.
Even in winter, hut is well visited.

The Josef Franz Hut is at 841 meters and is part of the official MTB route "Geisbühel route". The long ascent here is "only" over asphalt and gravel, but it is still quite tough (especially in the final section). The self-service hut is nicely prepared and offers a lot of space. After the hard climb, you really deserve a break here .. 😉
