Already far to see, stands at the top of the mountain, this small open chapel. It is a place of pilgrimage, but also a place for a break to enjoy the view.

The small church is dedicated to Saint Wendelin of Trier, who, according to legend, worked as a missionary in the diocese of Trier in the 6th century.

Close to Klein-Umstadt and in the Groß-Umstädter Weinlage Stachelberg is the Wendelinuskapelle, which is said to have been built at the end of the 15th century (however, the entry is the year 1794). At the highest point of this vineyard, it is actually clearly visible from almost all sides. It is dedicated to St. Wendelin of Trier, who according to legend was said to have been a missionary in the diocese of Trier in the 6th century. He was apparently a monk and later also abbot of Irish-Celtic descent and is revered as the patron saint of shepherds and peasants, peasants, day laborers and farm laborers. The chapel is freely accessible at all times and also serves Protestant pilgrims as a place of worship.
