As lonely as she looks in the photos, the Little Mermaid is rare. So it's worth it not to pay her a visit in the high season, otherwise it will be difficult to get her alone in front of the camera. The symbol of Denmark and Copenhagen is definitely a "must see".

The tourist magnet in Copenhagen - if you were not with the little mermaid, you were not in Copenhagen ;-)

If you are ever in Copenhagen, you should also have seen the most famous highlight and landmark of this beautiful city - "The Little Mermaid" - and not be disappointed that it is so small - small but beautiful.

The Little Mermaid sculpture was installed on August 23, 1913 at the Langelinje quay in Copenhagen as a gift to the City of Copenhagen. The generous donor was Carl Jacobsen, son of J.C. Jacobsen, the founder of another Copenhagen global brand, namely the Carlsberg brewery.

The Little Mermaid sculpture is made of bronze and granite stone and is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale about the mermaid who sacrifices everything to be reunited with the young, beautiful prince on land. Every morning and every evening she rises from the seabed and longs for the prince from her rock in the water.
The story of the little mermaid is known to many children today not only from Hans Christian Andersen's original version, but also from Disney's version of the same name.
