Canale di Cicerchia is a drainage canal tributary of Lake Fogliano. It has been included in the European Rewetland project for water purification through a natural filtering system.
Cicerchia (Lathyrus sativus L., 1753) is a legume widely cultivated for human consumption in various continents. It is a particularly important crop in areas prone to drought and famine, called insurance crop because it provides a good harvest when other crops fail. Cicerchia contains a neurotoxin that can cause problems if consumed in large quantities.
