Originally a Renaissance two-storey chateau, it was built in the 1580s by the Bukůvkov family of Bukůvka. It belonged to the Žerotín family in 1653-1771. Under Josef Karel of Žerotín, after 1751, the tower was converted into an observatory. In the mid-19th century, under the Tersch family, it was rebuilt in the late classicist style. The last owner of the chateau was the Baťa company.
The chateau has recently undergone reconstruction. The building has been used for social housing, and houses the Vikýrek family centre and the Třemešek café.
