The owners of the Kariotiškės estate had excellent taste in choosing the landscape. A large wooden gentleman's house rose on the shore of the magnificent Kulpis Lake. The rectangular-plan, one-story palace is richly decorated with wood carvings. The estate was built from the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries. Around the palace there was a park, a little further away there were farm buildings.

Back in 1989, it was announced that fragments of the estate had survived in the village of Kariotiškės on the territory of the "Pergalės" collective farm, the condition of which was satisfactory. The park was abandoned, neglected, overgrown with bushes. There were a few old trees growing in the territory. The Kariotiškės manor in ancient times belonged to the wealthy Polish general Mikolaj Ignacy Osikow or Osikovski (1873-1950). Until the end of World War II, the place was called by the military surname of the last landowner - Osikowo. The NKVD tried to capture the general, but he managed to escape abroad, died in Scotland, where he was buried.

After the war, this was the center of a collective farm, a shop was open in the palace, and later people lived there. The wood carvings are now broken, crumbling, and the whole house is already crooked and crumbling...
