The Hochbichl hut
also known colloquially as the "Canapée hut" or "Sofa hut" is one of the most famous destinations on the Ofterschwanger Horn! It owes its nickname to the resourceful host, who never tires of organizing "new" old leather sofas and armchairs that are perfect for sitting on. Have you ever sat on a leather sofa in the sunshine with ski boots and a winter jacket, a cool drink in your hand and let the sun shine on your face? NO? Then it's about time! The hut with a large children's playground can of course also be reached in summer from the mountain station of the World Cup Express in 20 minutes. An Eldorado for adults and children, guests, summer vacationers and locals!

An absolute must on the tour, because the Hochbichlhütte at "Erwin" is a cult, extremely child-friendly alpine hut with delicious food (the flambéed curry sausage is a hit) and drinks (ask Erwin for "diesel").
This stop is also called "at Canape Erwin" because there are many sofas on the alpine hut where you can relax wonderfully.
Across from the World Cup ski hut (directly below the mountain station of the Ofterschwangbahn), the Hochbichelhütte (10-15 minutes from the World Cup ski hut) is definitely preferable.
But be careful: you shouldn't arrive too late at Erwin. Depending on the position of the sun and the time of year, the sun can disappear behind the "horns" as early as 3.30 p.m. in October and a nice spot on a sofa without sun would be a real shame.
