Very nice especially for flowering. Great for a walk, or just hang out. Be sure to visit the tropical house. My insider tip is the giant chess game.

The Planten un Blomen Park in the center of Hamburg is a wonderful destination. There is a botanical garden with a tropical house and the largest Japanese garden in Europe.

If you want to treat yourself to a break during a stay in the Hanseatic city, you definitely have to go to the Planten un Blomen Park in Hamburg. Where Danish cannonballs flew centuries ago, today a wonderfully green recreational area stretches from St. Pauli to the Alster.
Hamburg's green belt goes back to the ramparts that were demolished at the beginning of the 19th century. First there was the zoological garden, and in the 1930s the park was gradually transformed into a publicly accessible amusement park. The Low German name, which significantly just means "plants and flowers", dates from this period.
The garden is more than just a classic park with a lawn and barbecue area, although that is also offered. In addition to the summer program for young and old, the water light shows with music at the park lake are a daily highlight. From May to September, the half-hour light show with colored fountains and regularly changing music program takes place every evening at 10:00 p.m. All you need for the right amount of romance is a cozy blanket and a bottle of wine.

Unfortunately, cycling is not allowed here, but it is very worthwhile to push through here and enjoy the great nature. Spring is the most beautiful time here, when everything is green, blooming and smelling fascinating.
