Pertisau borders the Karwendel nature protection area, which is one of the largest nature protection areas in Tyrol (727 km²).
Around Pertisau are several two-thousanders such as the Sonnjoch, Lamsenspitze, Dristenkopf and Rappenspitze.Pertisau was first mentioned in the 14th century in a deed of the Abbey of St. Georgenberg-Fiecht. The Habsburgs discovered Pertisau in the 15th century by hunting in the surrounding forests and fishing on Lake Achen until 1918.Tourism started in the middle of the 19th century.
Today, Pertisau is a center of quality hotels, guest houses, holiday apartments and Alpine boarding houses.August 23, 2021
