The cemetery was founded in the 18th century, when the Old Believers community settled in Degučiai. The cemetery is rich in monuments and ancient crosses. Since 2004, the Degučiai Old Believers cemetery has been carrying out cemetery maintenance, monument restoration, chapel reconstruction, and donation collection work. In September 2006, the cemetery community “Degučiai rimtis” was established. In 2007, the chapel was restored and consecrated.
