The Austeria is a historic building of a former post office, built in the years 1784-1790 by Piotr Tepper the Elder according to the design of Szymon Bogumił Zug. The complex included a town hall, merchant stalls, a post office building, a stable and a coach house.
During the Battle of Raszyn in 1809, the Austeria served as the headquarters of Prince Józef Poniatowski. Despite the damage, it has survived to this day and is a valuable example of classicist urban architecture from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
