Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean. There are numerous alleyways and many buildings from the 16th century. The highlight is the cathedral, which was the first to be built in the new world, and the Alcazar de Colon palace. Many museums with art treasures. Beautiful cafes on the Plaza de Espana.
