A monument and a building protecting the monument commemorating King Danjong, the grandson of King Sejong, the 6th king of Joseon who created the Hunminjeongeum. King Danjong was dethroned due to a rebellion by his uncle, Prince Suyang, and was exiled to Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, where he was later murdered.
