The estate was founded in the early 19th century by a Voronezh nobleman, major general, participant in the war of 1812 D. I. Khalyutin. Then the estate was owned by Dmitry Ivanovich's son - justice of the peace V. D. Khalyutin, and then by his grandson - V. V. Khalyutin, married to Princess T. A. Volkonskaya. In 1894, the estate was bought by the Sokolovs, who moved here from Moscow. K. K. Sokolov worked as a famous doctor and surgeon, and his wife Z. S. Sokolova (K. S. Stanislavsky's sister) was a director, actress and theater teacher.
