At 450 m a.s.l., within the Raganello Gorges nature reserve and in the heart of the Pollino National Park, it is among the historic Albanian communities of Italy, not far from the Ejanina and Frascineto sisters.
There is a beautiful bust of Giorgio Castriota welcoming visitors near the central square, on the crossroads.

Hiking

Full of cheap eats serving delicious food. Bed and breakfast places available. People are very welcoming. Museums offer an insight into Albanian way of life in this village and if wish to go to raganello but don't fancy the steep hill, you can pay for a lift. The valley below the village is a must see!
