Only the second half of this trail has shade, but it offers some one-of-a-kind views across Fish Creek Valley. There's the old uranium mine too, near the start of this segment (look for a little footpath leading to it), although the mine has been gated to keep out curious hikers — its unmaintained tunnels are not safe to explore.
