Just a few meters from this point is the Tellsplatte - the stone slab on which William Tell climbed after jumping from the bailiff Gessler's boat. The Tell Chapel now stands here in honor of the Swiss national hero. The most important events in the Tell saga can be admired on the frescoes inside.
