The Laurentius Church is the place of worship of the Evangelical Lutheran community. It was designed in its current form after the fire caused by lightning on July 10, 1828 (components of the previous buildings from 1733 and 1630 were incorporated). It was inaugurated on November 29, 1836.
The Golgotha altarpiece from 1836 was created by the artist Carl Sigismund Walther (1783–1866), who was born in Dresden and later worked in Tallinn. The organ from 1881 is a work by the Sauer organ workshop in Frankfurt an der Oder.
