The house in which the restaurant is located was built in 1893 and in 1897 the restaurant "Zur Stadtbahn" was opened in it. It was one of the most popular day-trip restaurants on the outskirts of Berlin. At that time, Kaulsdorf was still part of the municipality of Niederbarnim. The restaurant has now been in existence for almost 120 years and is one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the district. It serves good home cooking and a lot of interesting information about the history of the Berlin S-Bahn.
