This trail is the southernmost access point for the original Kesugi Ridge Trail; it's nice for anyone who wants a more gradual ascent (or descent) from the ridge, or a more leisurely day hike, than the other access points offer. But that also makes it much longer until you finally break out in the jaw-dropping views of the tundra.

This is about where the trail departs from the creekside, so it makes a good turnaround point for a short day hike. If you continue on the trail will wind into the trees, still giving you occasional peekaboo glimpses of the creek.

The Curry Ridge Connector (a new, even more southerly access route to Kesugi Ridge) sort of intersects with this trail near Tarn Point, but that's still miles away from you, up on the broad back of the ridge.
