The wheels of over 100 covered wagons left a stunning memorial in the rocks just south of Guernsey. When traveling along the historic Oregon Trail, the pioneers had to traverse the ridge in exactly the same place. The deep ruts are still visible today and part of the Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site. A short loop trail provides an informative journey back in time.
