The building is enclosed by a glass climate envelope that creates a Mediterranean climate. This is on average 5 ° C warmer than the outside temperature. Computer-controlled ventilation allows heat exchange without additional energy. Water features, earth channels and large gates prevent overheating in summer. Fountains, palm trees and bridges over basins emphasize the Mediterranean character.

56 spruce trunks support a 180-meter-long and 75-meter-wide glass envelope, the interior of which is supplied with energy and heat via the world's largest roof-integrated solar power system.
