Hiking
The mulberry tree has a circumference of 3.50 m and could date from the end of the 18th century. It is one of the rare specimens still to be found in the city.
Its planting became widespread from the 17th century onwards for the breeding of silkworms. This type of cultivation reached its peak in France around 1850. An animal epidemic decimated the livestock industry in 1848. The epidemic was contained in 1875, but with the fall in prices, breeders lost interest in the silkworm.
