The Cenotaph of Lemnos, also known as the "Pyramid of Lemnos" or "Cenotaph of the Cossacks", is a monument built on the Greek island of Lemnos in honour of the Cossacks who perished during their exile following the 1917 October Revolution in Russia. Approximately 5,000 Cossacks arrived on the island in 1920, facing starvation and disease, which led to the deaths of many of them. The monument, shaped like a pyramid and topped by a white marble cross, was erected by the survivors as a tribute to their deceased comrades. Over time, the structure fell into disrepair, but it has recently been restored, preserving its historical and symbolic significance.
