The new construction of the ÖBB Steyr River Bridge made it possible to convert the old railway bridge from the imperial era into a cycle path bridge. In 2018, the sleepers of the former railway bridge were dismantled and replaced with prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs as a base for the cycle path.
