The St. Anna Chapel, built in 1890 in the neo-Gothic style, marks the end of the Way of the Cross. Particularly interesting is the large mosaic that covers the entire façade and can be seen from far away.

Saint Anne is the mother of the Mother of God Mary, who is not mentioned in the biblical texts, but she is mentioned in apocryphal writings (i.e. not included in the canon of the Bible), for example in the so-called "Protoevangelium of James". There is no historically confirmed knowledge about the life of Anne, but there are numerous traditional stories, which are summarized, for example, in the medieval "Legenda Aurea" by the Dominican monk Jacobus de Voragine. Among other things, she is the patron saint of the Anne Church in Düren, where a piece of her skullcap is kept as a relic. Her memorial day is - together with her husband Joachim - on July 26th.

The Bernkastel St. Anna Chapel owes its construction to the former dean Johannes Dorbach. It was built between 1890 and 1891. The church, which is connected by a Stations of the Cross, replaced a previous building dating from 1615, which was donated by the Bernkastel alderman Georg Mörtzer and his wife.
