The starting point is the planet Sun, directly at the former train station in Oberviechtach. On the scenic Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail, the trail then leads along the planets of our solar system. After 5.9 km, via Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, you reach the outermost planet of the solar system, Pluto. Impressive panels provide information about the respective planets in two languages (German/Czech).

Immediately after Pertholzhofen, the cycle path to Oberviechtach is dedicated to the sun and its planets. On the "Planet Path" there is an information board dedicated to our central star and each of its planets. The distance between the individual signs corresponds to the distances of the individual celestial bodies in space from each other. Pluto is quite far away from the sun, but our Earth is quite close to it!
