The Blue Devil Valley Scientific and Natural Area is a small, approximately 12-hectare nature reserve in the valley of the Minnesota River near the town of Granite Falls.
Especially known for:
one of the largest populations of the rare Common Five-lined Skink in Minnesota,
ancient granite and gneiss rocks,
dry prairies with cacti and rare plants,
numerous bird species and wildflowers.
The reserve has no developed hiking trails or tourist infrastructure. There is only a small parking lot and some unofficial paths through the area. As a result, the area appears very pristine and quiet.
