In the immediate vicinity you can spend good and cheap in the Lunan Bay Stays (lunanbaystays.scot/). We got there late at night in the Bunk House a clean room on the video intercom. The caretaker was very friendly and had a good Scottish breakfast.

Hiking
A secluded and picturesque beach with plenty of sand dunes and good views. There is a large car park and it is a short walk to the beach. Good views of the nearby castle if you walk to the south.
