The garbage city is a fascinating place that most tourists don't know about and don't visit. Garbage collectors live here and the garbage is recycled here. The streets are narrow, it smells, it's dusty, it's hilly and very, very fascinating.

In order to reach the cave church in Cairo, a walk or Tuk Tuk drive is neccessary from the main road. Walking trough the Garbage City is quiet an experience for foreigners. But worth to do by foot. If you do it by foot, beware that wearing propper closed shoes makes a lot of sense, as the street can be dirty, muddy and wet.
