This is a five-ringed tower said to be the tomb of Taima no Kehaya, known as the founder of sumo. During the reign of Emperor Suinin, Taima no Kehaya and Nomi no Sukune competed in a contest of strength, which is said to have been the first sumo match in Japan to be viewed by the Emperor.
