You simply have to walk the nativity scene trail at least once. Over the last five years, the nativity scene trail along the Biebrichsbach via Horressen to Montabaur has made a name for itself far beyond the borders of the Westerwald and is attracting a lot of attention, and not just from nativity scene fans. There are now over 200 illuminated nativity scenes on the 8 km long trail, which are lovingly integrated into nature, front gardens and shops every year. If this circular route is too far for you, you can explore the two sections individually or on different days. The nativity scenes are not only made of a wide variety of materials, but also show how diversely the Christmas story can be portrayed. The imagination that the nativity scene builders sometimes show here is very impressive. In the historic city center you can find more nativity scenes in many shop windows, but you can also discover impressive works in churches and chapels.
