Stane Street is the modern name of a 56-mile (90 km) Roman road that linked London to the Roman town of Noviomagus Reginorum, later renamed Chichester by the Saxons. Whilst historians cannot be certain of the exact date the road was constructed, it was certainly in use by 70 AD, according to artefacts discovered along the road. Along this little section, through tranquil farmland, you are literally walking in the footsteps of ancient civilisations.

Not as visible in the Summer, but the views to the sea are breathtaking. Stane Street is the old road built by the Romans around 70 AD linking London and Chichester.

I've walked much of that part of Stane St and the surrounding areas. And cycled more than I should (some of it is just footpath, and overgrown in places).
Point is this: It's wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone.
