The first mention of a church in Musestre is found in a papal bull of Callixtus II in 1123, followed in 1135 by another by Pope Innocent II. It was rebuilt in the eighteenth century using part of the masonry of the previous building, erected on the embankment of the Roman road Claudia Augusta, near the place where, according to tradition, the saints Teonisto, Tabra and Tabrata were martyred. It is interesting to note how the orientation was changed: the old fourteenth-century church had its façade facing south, towards the Sile, while the entrance of the new one is rotated 90 degrees and faces towards the Musestre. The church was consecrated in 1746.
