The support shoulders are anchored to the rocks of the banks, while the single arch bridge crosses the Imagna stream at the point of confluence with the Brembo.
In ancient times the only access route to the Brembana Valley passed through here, so the Attone bridge constituted a fundamental point for commercial connections with the other side of the Alps.
