As of Nov. 2024:
The entire section between Kathmandu and Pokhara currently consists of a single gigantic construction site, with only a few sections being paved. Large sections are very coarse gravel or stones, sand or mud. Due to the increasing traffic towards Kathmandu, the route is currently not recommended and is quite dangerous in some sections. Broken cars, landslides and stop-and-go traffic make cycling even more difficult. The roadworks are not scheduled to be completed until early 2026 at the earliest.
