I was lucky that the track was closed to traffic, so I had the road for me and it was quiet. In addition to the lake, it has also done to me the shingle architecture of the houses.

The B27 leads from Bad Lauterberg to Braunlage. Up to the Odertaler Sägemühle one comes from Bad Lauterberg, hardly slope, since it leads along the Oderstausees. The valley at the Odertaler Sägemühle is very pretty. Usually the B27 is quite busy. I drove the track in the evening, there was hardly any traffic.

      History of the Odertaler Sägemühle:

"The Odertaler Sawmill, first mentioned in 1512, was once an important component of a branch of industry in the Harz between Bad Lauterberg, Sankt Andreasberg and Braunlage on the present federal highway 27. The lumberjacks brought their beaten wood for reuse for mines and the construction of houses here. The sawmill was operated until 1985. Over the years paddlewheels, water turbines, steam engines or diesel engines were used as drives. The Odertaler Sägemühle still has no connection to the public power grid. Hydro turbine and steam engine are still available and should be prepared for inspection.

After 1985, the sawmill was converted into a destination with a mineral house and an exhibition hall for woodcutting and woodcarving. From 1998 to 2004 the Odertaler Sägemühle stood empty unused. Since 2004, the Fischer family has run the company. "
