Hiking
The crystal-clear Salfeinssee lies high up close to the summit and surrounded by beautiful mountain meadows. The smooth water surface reflects the dramatic backdrop of the Kalkkögel.

Hiking
Water quality is mega. But it is a moor lake, so brown. But the newts speak a clear language.

Hiking
The lake isn't (!) ideal for swimming, even after a strenuous climb – pack plenty of drinking water! The lake has little to no natural inflow and is therefore very dirty.
However, in calm conditions, it offers beautiful photo opportunities, for example, of the reflection of the Kalkkögel in the afternoon/evening sun.
